Center for Digital Entrepreneurship The Center for Digital Entrepreneurship (CDE), a division of the Institute for the Economy and the Future, engages students, faculty and staff with regional businesses and organizations to collaborate on projects within the emerging and rapid growth segments of the digital economy.
Students
One of the main goals of the CDE is to engage WCU students with real projects that facilitate cross discipline collaboration. A business student can collaborate with a computer science student, film and commercial music student in order to deliver content and applications that are delivered through the internet. Facilities
The student workspace is set up and designed for collaboration on projects, and is complete with state of the art digital lab complete with high end computer workstations, digital audio and HD video equipment. The workstations have the entire Adobe suite installed as well as Final Cut Studio 2, Logic 7 Cinema 4d XL studio, and Microsoft Office. Projects Since the inception of the CDE, students have had the opportunity to engage in real-world projects that require them to collaborate as part of a team, meet deadlines, maintain primary responsibility for project segments, and present their ideas and products at group meetings. The following are examples of projects that employed significant student involvement and contributions.
